Hector H. Guerra Teno, 70, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on April 20, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
Mr. Guerra served in the U. S. Marines for three years. After his honorable discharge, he worked for the U. S. Post Office for a short period of time. He then was employed with the U.S. Border Patrol and retired after twenty-eight years as a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estanislao and Rosa V. Guerra and by a brother, Ricardo Enrique Guerra. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria N. Guerra, their three sons, Robert R. Emilia Guerra, Michael Joseph Kathy Guerra and John David Christine Guerra, three grandchildren, Anthony Joseph, David Andrew and Alyssa Nicole Guerra, as well as a brother, Emilio Ruben Bertha Guerra and a sister, Maria Yolanda Arturo Weaver.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009 after 10 a.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 23, at St. Marys Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by the American Legion Post 43 under the direction of Commander Raul Leal.
Pallbearers will be Anthony J. Guerra, Robert Dan Guerra, David A. Guerra, Richard D. Guerra, Jimmy Houghtaling III, and Darius Weaver.
