Heriberto A. Treviño, 93, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Friday afternoon, October 16, 2015. Born in Los Saenz, Texas, he had resided in Brownsville since 1954.
Mr. Treviño worked as a teacher for 15 years and as a Technologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 20 years. He was a life member for at least 40 years of the Order of the Alhambra of the Alva Caravan Number 91 and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1553 4th Degree. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also served as a Deacon for 27 years at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brownsville.
Mr. Treviño will be missed not only by his family but also by all those fortunate to have known him.
Mr. Treviño was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leonor "Lee" G. Treviño, four sisters and six brothers.
Left to eternally treasure their memories of him are his brother, Jesus M. Treviño, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, TX with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard in Brownsville, TX at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
Mr. Treviño will be transferred on Wednesday morning to his hometown of Los Saenz, Texas for funeral services. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Los Saenz from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Funeral Mass scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Committal services will follow at the Los Saenz Cemetery.
