Herminia Rios Gonzalez, 79, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her residence in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.
Minnie, as she was affectionately known to all, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Minnie was the owner and cofounder of Rios Flowers for numerous years until she retired to enjoy the fruits of her labors. Minnie was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Good Neighbor Settlement House Mothers Club, and the Valley Baptist Volunteer Service. Minnie was an avid quilter. Minnie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all her family and those fortunate to have known her.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her husband of 43 years, Pablo G. Gonzalez her children: Diana Lynn Moreno, Alejandro Moreno, Rene M. Moreno, Carlos Marisela Cantu, and Danny Doris Gonzalez five grandchildren: Danny Jesus and Bryan Gonzalez and Maritza, Karla and Carlos Eduardo Cantu and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 300 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. today, Thursday, October 17, 2013, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. A chapel service celebrating Minnies life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Rene Modesto Moreno, Carlos Cantu, Danny Ray Gonzalez, Ernesto Gonzalez, Ernesto Vasquez, and Frank Duran are honored to be serving as Minnies pallbearers.
