Herminio Caballero Montalvo, 90, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Caballero was a native of Jimenez, Tamps., Mexico. He immigrated to the United States 55 years ago and he had been a resident of Brownsville for 24 years. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed listening to music especially Los Montaeses del Alamo. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday in the company of his family and friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Celeste Bolado de Caballero.
Left behind to forever cherish his memory are his children, Maria Elena Leonardo Grimaldo, Guadalupe G. Caballero, Lus Gonzaga Maria Elena Caballero, Lucrecia Amada Eliot Acevedo, Concepcin del Carmen Antonio Reyes, Martha Ventura Snchez, Jos A. Celinda Caballero, Guadalupe Joseph de la Garza, and Carlos Alberto Nayda Caballero; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister Beatriz Caballero Rodolfo de Casso.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2007 at St. Lukes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Family members are honored to be serving as pallbearers for Mr. Caballero.
