Hilda Garcia, 88, of Brownsville, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
Mrs. Garcia loved to cook for her family and friends. Her flour tortillas were simply the best. Everyone looked forward to the basket of goodies that she made for them at Christmas. She also loved working in her yard and garden. But her true joy and passion was her family. She was the epitome of a devoted mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. Her selfless devotion to her beloved granddaughter will never be forgotten by her. She was extremely proud of Judy and her family and all their accomplishments.
A devout Catholic Mrs. Garcias day began and ended in prayer. She prayed her rosary daily along with a litany of other prayers taken from her collection of prayer cards and books.
Mrs. Garcia was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family but by all those fortunate to have known her and been a part of her life.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road. All services will conclude after the Mass and in accordance with Mrs. Garcias wishes cremation will follow.
