Howard Joseph Graham, known to friends and family as Joe, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the age of 65.
Joe was born January 25, 1944; the seventh of eight children to F.T. Dut Graham and Catherine Hill Graham. He was raised in Brownsville and attended St. Joseph Academy before graduating from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Maine in 1962. He served three years in the U.S. Army, including time spent overseas during the Vietnam War. He returned to Brownsville and worked in management at Goodyear in the late 1960s. He served as Vice President of First National Bank and United Savings and Loan in the 1970s. In 1979, he opened Graham Print and Copy, which he owned and managed until his retirement 23 years later.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers F.T. Tommy Graham, Douglas Graham, and John Robin Graham; and by his sons Brian and Kevin Graham. He is survived by his brother Richard Graham of Colorado Springs, Colorado; by his brothers David Graham and James Andrew Graham of San Antonio, by his sister Alice Graham Slaughter and brother-in-law Jerry Slaughter of San Antonio, by his son Joseph Graham of Brownsville, by many nieces and nephews, and by trusted friend Don Eddie Moore of Brownsville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Brownsville. Serving as pallbearers will be several of Joes nephews, Bradley Graham, Christopher Graham, F.T. Tim Graham, John Robin Jack Graham, Richard Alan Graham, and Walter Graham. Funeral services will be followed by burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 2035 under the direction of District Commander Luis Lucio.

Joe will be remembered as a kind, good, and generous man. He will be missed by all who knew him.
