Howard T. Hotcaveg, was called home by our Lord, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the age of 82.
Howard was born in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Jean Hotcaveg. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Steven J. Hotcaveg.
Howard was a devoted Catholic, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Before retiring, he was employed with Hygeia Dairy Company for 52 years. His passion for sports, playing the guitar, and dog shows kept him busy. He loved his coaching days with West Brownsville Little League and attending all his children and grandchildren's activities. He will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends, but all those fortunate to know him.
Left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Hotcaveg his children, Thomas Hotcaveg, Bonnie Salazar (Bill), Sandra Hotcaveg (Alfredo), and Linda Hotcaveg (Emmett), his grandchildren, who were the apples of his eyes, Janie Hotcaveg (Diego), Jason Salazar (Jazmine), Jolene Macias (Tony), JoAnna Salazar, Steven Hotcaveg, Lavonne Reyes (Fernando), Victoria Huerta, Brianna Huerta, Eli Martinez, and Alexis Martinez, 11 great-grandchildren, along with 2 brothers, Leonard Hotcaveg (Vivian), and Kenneth Hotcaveg (Carole), several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 4 to 9 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at St. Mary, Mother of the Church. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hotcaveg, Eli Martinez, Tony Macias, Fernando Reyes, Joe Salazar, Jesus Huerta, Gilbert Sandoval, Jr. and Javier Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers, Leonard Hotcaveg, Kenneth Hotcaveg, Jason Salazar, Bill Seale, Alfredo Korzenik and Emmett Flores.
