HARLINGEN, TX. - James Lawrence Briseño passed away on Monday, the 31st of March 2025. He was 76 years of age.
A devoted father, grandfather, and friend, James spent 30 plus years working for Southwestern Bell and AT&T, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a cherished colleague. Known affectionately as “Breeze” to his friends and coworkers, he was admired for his kindness, humor, and unwavering work ethic.
James is survived by the mother of his children, Theresa M. Briseño; and their three children: Jennifer Morillon (Jesse), Jayme Liserio (Steve), and Jimmy Briseño. He was a proud grandfather to Amber, Michael, Jose, and Christian, and a loving great-grandfather to six: Audrey, Caroli, Mary Jane, Jade, Mercedes, and Jayden. His family was the heart of his world, and he took great pride in each of them.
James will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the countless memories shared by his loved ones.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 2nd of April 2025 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 3rd of April 2025 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive, Brownsville. All services will conclude at the church. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, contributions may be made to the College of Pharmacy Texas A&M in support of the Dr. Martin Farias III Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Martin Farias III, affectionately known as “Butchie,” was James’s nephew, dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes. Though he may be gone, the love and laughter he shared will never be forgotten.
