James. K. Brittain, 92, born on 16 August 1917, in Strawn, TX passed away on 19 July 2010 at Olmito, TX.
Mr. Brittain spent the better part of his life in Brownsville, TX. he was owner of Brittain International, Inc, an Ocean Freight Forwarding Company , and supervised the export of many of the Valleys products to include Cotton, Fresh Grapefruit and other citrus items, manufactured items from Mexico and the States to all foreign ports. He was a member of the Brownsville Propellor Club and Rotary International. An avid golfer, he spent his final years living and relaxing at Rancho Viejo.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Ben Brittain and Sophrenia Sally Euleli Hertz and his younger brother Benjamin. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Aileen LaVerne Hanna Brittain, two daughters, Patricia Kay David DuBois of Brownsville and Karen Sue Jimmie Winch of Laredo. He will be deeply missed by his daughters and their families of six grand children and four great grand children.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10:30a.m., in the Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes, as an alternative, please to send donations to the Sunshine Haven Hospice, P. O. Box 4478, Brownsville, Texas 78523.
Additionally, the family would like to thank Mr. Brittains caregivers, Isabel Mills and Leticia Ortega, who , over the past four years have given full attention to the care ,protection and health,of Mr. Brittain, in a most loving way and, to Sunshine Haven and Odyssey Health Care, Inc. personnel who were there when the family needed them.
