Jeronimo F. Serrata, 63, beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
A native of Brownsville, Jeronimo lived in Chicago for twenty years, and after retiring he returned to his hometown. He was preceded in death by his parents David L. and Elvira Serrata.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his children: Jeronimo Jr. and his wife Diane and David and his wife Amy Serrata; his grandchildren: Anthony, Elizabeth, Taylor and Emma Serrata; his sisters: Anita S. James Redfern, Elvira S. Pete Avila, and Yolanda S. Juan Mendez; his brothers: Felipe L. Annette Correa, Guillermo Leticia Serrata, and Felipe Ruben Sylvia Serrata; his uncle, Leopoldo Perez; his aunt, Luz Charlie Davidson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon and continue through 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Liturgical Service of Christian Resurrection will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008 at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr. All services will conclude at the church and as per his wishes Jeronimo will be cremated.
