Jesus P. Quezada, 79, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, March 26, 2014, at his residence in Brownsville, Texas accompanied by his loving wife, son, and daughterinlaw.
Jesus was born in Gary, Indiana, in 1934, the oldest of thirteen children. He obtained his barbers license in the State of California in 1968, and established Imperial Hair Salon in the city of San Francisco, in the year 1971. Jesus came to Brownsville in 1973, where he established Imperial Barber Shop, which, together with his wife, Noris, and his son, Jesus Jr., he owned and operated for numerous years. Jesus also owned and operated a citrus orchard farm in Mexico, which he, with the help of his brother Salome Quezada, owned and managed for over 25 years. In 1989, Jesus obtained his Texas realtors license and was a longtime parishioner at St. Lukes Catholic Church.
Jesse to some, Chuy to others, he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends and by all those fortunate to have known him. He loved soccer, boxing, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, Salome Quezada and Maria Del Refugio Perez de Quezada one sister, Berenice Quezada and three brothers, Salome Quezada, Isauro Quezada, and Colmano Quezada.
Left behind to eternally their memories of him is his loving wife of 57 years, Noris E. Quezada a daughter, Dilma Richard Scimeca a son, Jesus Yvonne Quezada Jr. the six grandchildren that were his pride and joy: Holly Nicole Scimeca, Vanessa Justin QuezadaVierra, Kelly Christine Scimeca, Dr. Michael Andrew Quezada M.D., Jaclyn Jackie Scimeca, and Joseph Aaron Quezada his siblings: Baudelia Enrique Quezada de Acua, Hermelinda Jauregui, Baltazar Isaura Quezada, Josefina Hector Quezada de Moya, Leobardo Yolanda Quezada, Petra Cruz Quezada de Kalinochiz, Silvia Santos Quezada de Gutierrez, and Dagoberto Celia Quezada, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive in Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Jesses soninlaw, Richard Scimeca his grandsons: Dr. Michael Andrew Quezada M.D., Joseph Aaron Quezada, and Justin Vierra along with his brothers: Baltazar, Leobardo, and Dagoberto Quezada are honored to be serving as his pallbearers.
