Joe Henry Garcia, 61, of Port Isabel, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life after a valiant battle against cancer, on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was a native and lifetime resident of Port Isabel. He was a man who loved life and lived every minute to its fullest. His love of dancing made him an awesome dancer. He loved spending time at the beach with family and friends. He was also a born jokester and loved telling jokes to one and all. Joe never met a stranger he was a friend to one and all. He also took great pride in his appearance which earned him the nicknames El Catrin and Diamond Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Cora Garcia and his fatherinlaw, Ezequiel Cisneros.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his beloved wife of 37 years, Hilda Garcia 3 sons: Joe Henry Jr. and his wife Liza Garcia, Izick Ray Garcia and his fiance, Christie Enyart, and Richard Lee and his wife Jennifer Garcia three grandchildren that were his pride and joy: Joe Henry III, Noah, and Reid Garcia and Luke Anthony Garcia who is on the way. He will also be missed by his parents: Jose and Ruby Garcia his siblings: Ruby Gonzalez, Eddie Garcia, Noe Yolanda Garcia, Velma Bob Sandlin, and Felix Garcia his motherinlaw, Rosa Cisneros his brother and sistersinlaw: Emilio Cisneros, Leticia Robert Sierra, Ester Juan Barrientes, and Rosie Raymond Moreno, and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. today, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 12 noon and continue through 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010 and continue until 12 noon when the funeral procession will depart for the Mass of Christian Resurrection at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
