BROWNSVILLE, TX. - John Henry Ginn III "Johnny" entered into rest on Wednesday, the 15th of May 2024. He was ninety-five years of age.
A long-time resident of Brownsville, he dedicated fifty-seven years to Sanborn’s Travel and Mexican Insurance in Brownsville. He was also an active member of the Humane Society.
Johnny loved Brownsville and lived life to the fullest traveling to Mexico, fishing, playing poker, sipping on good tequila, and rescuing animals.
Preceding Johnny in death were his parents, John Henry Ginn, Jr. and Margaret Martin Ginn; his son, John Henry Ginn IV “Dinky”; his sister, Barbara Ginn Jennings; and his brother, Charles Martin Ginn.
Johnny is survived by his son, Craig Ginn; his grandson, Eric Stoneking; his former wife, Junita Ginn; his nephew, Marty Ginn; and his niece, Margaret “Bitsie” Rubí.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 20th of May 2024 between the hours of five o'clock in the afternoon and eight o'clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The family will gather for a private graveside service at Buena Vista Burial Park, where John will be laid to rest within the family plot.
Honored to be serving as his pallbearers are Craig Ginn, Marty Ginn, Alan Duval, Bill Haugeberg, Cooki Covarrubias, and Arnold Aguilar.
Honorary pallbearers are Ernie Tijerina, Jimmy John, John Patriarca, Carl Oakley, Carlos Cascos, Andrew Puckett, Zeke Silva, and Jose Maria “Chema” Martinez
