Jonathan David J.D. Brown, 28, beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at his residence in Brownsville.
J.D. as he was affectionately known was born in Dallas, Texas on September 8, 1979, the only child of James H. and Linda K. Brown. He had been a resident of Brownsville for several years. J.D. was his parents pride and joy. He was an ordained minister, who found his calling in ministering to physically challenged youth. He was able to reach those children who were sometimes overlooked by others.
J.D. was quite a unique young man. He was deeply loved by his parents and he will be deeply missed not only by James and Linda but by all those who were fortunate to have known him and especially by the youth he so lovingly ministered to.
J.D. was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James H. and Evelyn Brown; his maternal grandfather, Chester DeSpain; his uncle, Chester DeSpain, Jr., and two cousins, Samantha and Chet DeSpain.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his loving and devoted parents, James H. and Linda K. Brown; his maternal grandmother, Peggy DeSpain, several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins and friends.
The family will greet friends beginning at 11:30a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at 1p.m. A graveside service will be held in San Antonio, Texas at Mission Park North on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 1p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial gifts in J.D.s name be made to the Texas Bible Institute, P.O. Box 100, Columbus, Texas 78934 or Living Bread Ministries, 4743 Las Palomas, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
