Jose Luis Hermosa, 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Valley Regional Medical Centered in Brownsville, Texas.
Joe as he was affectionately known to all, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Joe worked for Freedom Newspapers throughout most of his adult life as a photographer and also did freelance photography throughout the Valley and State. Joe was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Manuela and Pedro L. Hermosa; a sister, Perla Egly; two brothers: Genaro and Pedro Hermosa; and his father-in-law, Louis P. Fromenthal.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Joe is his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 52 years: Lynn K. Hermosa; his children: Scott (Debbie) Hermosa, Joseph Paul (Demetria) Hermosa MD, Christine (Eduardo Gamez Jr.) Hermosa, and Melissa (Michael) Brown; 8 grandchildren: Veronica, Joe Nathan, Ethan, Michael, Miranda, Baylor, Hunter, and Alexandria; his mother-in-law, Myrtle J. Fromenthal; his former daughter-in-law, Virginia Boissonneault along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, and continue through 9:00 p.m. in the East chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A rosary service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. We ask that everyone go directly to the church for the Funeral Mass as there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road. All services will conclude after the Mass with cremation will follow.
