Jose Jesus Mendez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Jose Jesus Mendez entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 22nd of September 2023 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. He was sixty-seven years of age.

Preceding Jose in death were his parents, Candido and Esperanza Tovar Mendez; and his sister, Gertrudis Pulido.

Survivors include his siblings Nieves Mendez, Candido Mendez, Rosaura Mendez, Esperanza Espinoza, and Emilia Zuniga; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 27th of September 2023 between the hours of two o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 28th of September 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
