BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Jose C. Molina, Jr., age 82, died peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Mr. Molina was born in San Benito, Texas to his parents Jose Molina, Sr. and Francisca Cantu. Their family consisted of five children: three daughters Maria Molina, Frances Wagner, and Ninfa De La Paz, and two sons, Jose Guadalupe Molina and Lino Molina.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Molina, Sr. and Francisca Cantu Molina; and by his siblings Ninfa De La Paz, Jose Guadalupe Molina, and Lino Molina. Jose was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his 11 children, Rita Perez.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Molina, and their daughter, Francisca Fuentes (Rogelio). Jose is also survived by his 11 children Jose Molina III (Rosie), Ronald Molina, Elvia Diaz (Antonio), Patricia Molina, Daniel Molina (Elsa), Eduardo Molina, Rita Jackson (Victor), Leticia Brackhahn (Marc), Diana Castaneda (Jose Luis), Manuel Molina, Francisco Molina. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria Molina and Frances Wagner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 19th of October 2020 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and six o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to be held at six o'clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The rosary will be livestreamed via his tribute page at www.darlingmouser.com.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 20th of October 2020 at the historic Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 E. Jefferson Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78520.
Kindly note, due to COVID social distancing protocols currently in place, seating is limited within the funeral home and within the church. Current guidelines and regulations will be adhered to and strictly mandated in addition to the requirement of a face mask that must be worn at all times within the funeral home.
