Mrs. Josefina Alaniz Rosales, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, entered into the glory of her eternal life on her 79th birthday, Monday, October 22, 2012 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle against lung cancer.
Fina, as she was affectionately known to all, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Fina was totally devoted to her family. To Fina family was everything. Fina was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Fina was preceded in death by her husband, Rosalio Rosales Sr., three sons: Rogelio, Raul, and Roman Rosales two grandsons: Raul Rogelio and Ricky Rosales Jr., her parents three brothers: Belisario Jr., Ernesto, and Alfredo Alaniz and three sisters: Irene Rendon, Guadalupe Rocha, and Olivia Solis.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Rosalinda R. Alberto Martinez Sr., Rosalio Leo Julie Rosales Jr., Ramiro Rosales, Rodolfo Luis Rosales, Reynaldo Irene Rosales, and Ricardo Rosalinda Rosales Sr. seventeen grandchildren, twentyfour greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 East Jefferson St. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Finas grandsons and greatgrandson: Albert Martinez Jr., Gilbert Martinez, Aleck Pineda, Roman Rosales, Ramiro Rosales Jr., and Rudy Rosales Jr. are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother and greatgrandmother.
The rest of Finas grandchildren and greatgrandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Finas family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. J. Chan, Dr. M. Raguthu, Dr. Jover and all the doctors and staff at Valley Regional for the excellent care administered to Josefina and to Esperanza Martinez, her provider and companion of many years.
