Josefina P. Garza

Josefina P. Garza, 88, beloved wife, mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Mexico D. F, Mexico, Mrs. Garza had been a resident of Brownsville since 1963. Prior to immigrating to the United States, she lived in Valle Hermoso for many years where she was a teacher. After moving to Brownville, she was able to become a stay at home mom. She was a devoted wife and mother who gave her all for family and friends. She was a superb role model for her children and grandchildren and she leaves a legacy of good moral values in them. Doa Josefina loved to sew, paint, dance, go out to eat, travel, and go shopping with her daughters. She will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Doa Josefina was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Trinidad Pacheco 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Left to eternally treasure her memory is her husband of 72 years, Miguel Angel Garza her children: Miguel Angel Jr. Leonor Garza, Jesus Gabriela Garza, Ma. del Rosario Francisco Serrata, Ma. Antonieta Lucio Cortinas, Carlos Garza, Margarita Reynaldo Gonzalez Sr., Enrique Garza, and Josefina Oscar Maldonado 28 grandchildren and 32 greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the East Chapel DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2011 at Mary Mother of the Church St. Marys, 914 Barnard Rd., Brownsville, TX.

Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Doa Josefinas grandsons: Roberto Cortinas, Gustavo Garza, Luis Carlos Gonzalez, Reynaldo Gonzalez, Oscar Maldonado Jr., and Francisco Serrata are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother. Honorary pallbearer will be the rest of her grandsons.
