BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Josefina Paredes de Gutierrez entered into eternal rest in Brownsville, Texas on Wednesday, the 24th of June 2020 at the age of 92.
Josefina was born on April 11, 1928 and was raised in Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Mexico. Her favorite pastimes were reading, knitting, playing cards and dominos that she was able to enjoy with her sisters, daughters, and friends, and she also enjoyed dancing. She loved to travel and watch basketball and baseball games. During her lifetime, she enjoyed being part of the Rotary Family through which she devoted herself to help the needy and was a member of the Garden Club Tulipan for several years. She was a great advisor to her friends and family. Josefina will always be remembered by her beautiful smile; she was always proper, and her beauty admired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eliseo Paredes Manzano and Guadalupe Rangel; brothers, Eliseo and Horacio; and by her beloved husband, Arnoldo Gutierrez Lopez.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her sisters Graciela, Isaura, Lita, and Sara Alicia; her daughters Irma Josefina, Elda Josefina, and Beatriz Josefina, and son, Arnoldo; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
