Josefina R. Salinas, 85, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
Mrs. Salinas was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Inez Rivera, her husband, Jose M. Salinas, a son, Alfredo Freddy Salinas, her brothers, Alberto, Rosalio, Ernesto, and Raul Rivera, her sisters, Aurora Valdez, Maria Zamora, Rosita Perez, and Celia Balboa and by a great-granddaughter, Crystal Vasquez. She is survived by her children, Jesus Amelia Salinas, Inez Victor Betancourt, Ninfa Luis Lopez and Juanita Estrada all of Brownsville, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 1p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, November 13, at 3p.m., at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Jesse Salinas, John Salinas, Luis Lopez, Jr., David Lopez, Victor Betancourt and Norma Lopez are honored to be serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Salinas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus Salinas, Luis Lopez and Jaime Betancourt.
