Juan Antonio Loya, 66, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 24th, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Juan was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Juan was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Juan is preceded in death by his father, Eugenio Loya.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 42 years, Yolanda Abrego Loya; two sons: Gene and Johnny (Mari Alvear) Loya; his mother, Ernestina Loya; two sisters: Lupita (Martin) Cortez and Angie Loya; his brother, Pastor Gene( Alma) Loya; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will start at 11:00 am and continue through 9:00 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 28th, 2016, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for 7:00 pm Wednesday evening. All services will conclude Wednesday evening and in accordance with Juan's wishes cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Juan's name may be made to Centro Cristiano Shamma, 825 West St. Francis St., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
Martin Cortez, Tony Abrego, Beto Arteaga, Carlos de la Rosa, Robert Garcia, Carlos Ruiz, and Phillip Turner will serve as honorary pallbearers.
