Juan S. Perez, 86, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, August 13, 2010, at Sunshine Haven surrounded by his loving family.
A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Mr. Perez was a sergeant in the Army serving in WWII. He worked in the maintenance department as a supervisor at Texas Southmost College for 35 years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Perez and Josefina Sanchez, his brothers, Jose Perez and Jose Mariano Perez and his son, Anthony Perez.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his loving wife of 22 years, Juanita A. Perez, his children, Norma Barbosa, David Perez, and Rolando Perez, a sister, Hortencia Garza and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 15 p.m. at DarlingMouser Funeral Home and will resume, Monday, August 16, 2010 at 9 a.m. and continue until 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at DarlingMouser Funeral Home East Chapel with Pastor Eduardo Garza officiating. Burial will follow to Buena Vista Burial Park. Military Honors will be conducted at the gravesite by VFW Post 2035 under the direction of Luis Lucio.
David Perez, Arturo Mejia, Benjamin Perez, Steve Garza, Ray Vallejo, and Roy Vallejo are honored to be serving as his pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Garza, and Eddie Garza, Jr.
