Juan N. Rangel, Jr., 82, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Rangel served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Public Utilities Board after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan N. and Eulalia Loya Rangel, his wife, Leonor Martinez Rangel and by his siblings, Robert Rangel, Refugia Villarreal and Josefina Palacios. He is survived by his eleven children, Juan N. Rangel III, Maria Guadalupe Victor Manriquez, Beatrice Garza, Irene Puente, Roberto Josie Rangel, Oralia Mayora, Rodolfo Rangel, Diana Martinez, Ramiro Edith Rangel, Thelma Rangel Jose Cano and Sylvia Jose Pea, a brother, George Rangel, his sisters, Cora San Miguel, Bertha Rangel, and Eva Vangie Lopez, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10a.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, November 5, at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be conducted at the gravesite by the VFW Post 2035 under the direction of Post Commander Luis Lucio.
