Juan D. Zorola, 88, our beloved father, fatherinlaw, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, August 09, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville after a brief illness.

Born on November 16, 1922, Mr. Zorola was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. Mr. Zorola served his country proudly during the WW II campaign in the United States Army.

A welder by trade, he was a faithful and dedicated employee for Delta Machine Shop for 32 years. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

Mr. Zorola loved fishing and taught both of his daughters how to fish. He was also at Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America for 15 years at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and with 64 years of service had the distinction of being their longest standing member. He was a good man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved to mentor others and he touched the lives of many in our community. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose A. and Tomasa Zorola his wife, Modesta Zorola a daughter, Juanita Zorola his sister, Ernestina Perez and a brother, Jose Zorola.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his daughter, Patricia Pat Olah and her husband Ray and their two children, Alexander and Krystiana his brother, Hector Zorola two sisters, Julie Way and Gracie Mejia and numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, Friday, August 12, 2011 and continue through 9 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. this evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 E. Jefferson St. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Mr. Zorolas soninlaw, Ray Olah along with his nephews are honored to be serving as his pallbearers. The American Legion Post 43 Funeral Honor Guard under the direction of Commander Raul Leal will be providing military honors at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Zorolas family is requesting that memorial gifts in his name be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 1553, P.O. Box 1506, Brownsville, TX 78522
