Juanita Janie Adriana Camarillo, 50, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, March 09, 2008.
A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Janie was the oldest of 11 children born to Ovidio and Maria Salinas.
Janie had been employed with the BISD for over 20 years. She started working as a paraprofessional while attending college in the evenings and in the summers to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Education. She continued her graduate studies obtaining her Masters Degree in Administration. She rose through the ranks from paraprofessional to an Assistant Principal. Janie genuinely embodied BISDs motto, Were all about children. She truly WAS all about the children. Her love, devotion, and dedication were clearly evident to the students, parents, faculty and staff of the schools where she worked.
Janie was a lifetime parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a diehard fan of the NHRA National Hot Rod Association. She was also anxiously and happily awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild.
Left behind to eternally treasure her memory is her husband of 31 years, Eugenio Gene Camarillo III; her daughter, Adriana Camarillo and her fiance Bruce Schmitt Jr.; her son Eugenio Gino and his wife Stephanie Camarillo IV; her parents, Ovidio and Maria Salinas; her 10 brothers and sisters, Ovidio Maribel Salinas Jr., Norma Robert Garcia, Oscar Sandra Salinas, Omar Cindy Salinas, Nelda Armando Gutierrez, Vicky Carlos Garcia, Patty David Moore, Frank Salinas, Danny Salinas, and Tony Anna Salinas; her brother-in-law, Esteban V. Camarillo and numerous nieces and nephews.
