Juanita Vasquez Dimas, 82, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Valley Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.
A lifetime resident of Brownsville, Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Juanita was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus "Chuy" Dimas and her son, Ruben Dimas; a grandson, Ruben Dimas Jr., two brothers and a sister-in-law.
Juanita is survived by her children: Juanita "Janie" Dimas (Richard+) Strong, Rosie Dimas, Sylvia Dimas Petrarca, Armando Dimas, Diana Dimas (Raul+) Garza, Gracie Dimas, and Dennis (Carol) Dimas; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Dimas; two sisters: Ramona Dimas and Olga Garcia; a brother, Enrique Vasquez; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Juanita's grandsons are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother.
