Juanita R. Salinas

Juanita R. Salinas, 59, joined the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born May 24, 1948 to Guadalupe and Florentina Rodriguez. She was one of fourteen children.

Mrs. Salinas was preceded in death by her son, Michael Salinas; her father, Guadalupe Rodriguez; and a brother, Arnoldo Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Fernando R. Salinas; her daughters, Marie Yvonne Salinas, Michelle Joe Martinez and Korina Salinas-Smith; her grandchildren, Maria del Rosario Salinas, Kirstin Salinas, Fernando Salinas, Alejandro Salinas, Drevin Salinas, Acasia Smith, Christian Salinas, Brennen and Conner Smith and Deedra Jo Martinez.

She is also survived by her mother, Florentina Rodriguez; her brothers, Erasmo Belinda Rodriguez, Ruben Sylvia Rodriguez and Pedro Janie Rodriguez; her sisters, Rosalinda Joe Valdez, Maria William Lockaby-Tokarz, Evangelina Garcia, Diana Luis Morrison, Norma Frank Castillo, Delia Fidencio Mendoza, Oralia Jesse Hernandez, Sylvia Ismael Lopez and Tila Silverio Vasquez and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Mrs. Salinas request, there will be no services, but her maternal family would like to extend an invitation to her family and friends to a memorial mass on Friday, April 18, 2008 at St. Luke Catholic Church at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer, P.O. Box 6678, San Antonio, Texas 78209 or to The American Cancer Society, 5413 S. McColl Road, Edinburgh, Texas 78539.

The family would like to extend their heart felt appreciation to Valley Air Care, UTHSC Cancer Therapy and Research Center and the wonderful and patient staff at University Hospital and to Mr. Gallegos and staff at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
