Juanita "Janie" Torres

Juanita Janie Flores Torres, 54, of Los Fresnos, our beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Janie as she was known to all, worked for 31 years as a Quality Assurance Compliant Analyst for Saint Gobain Abrasives formerly Nortons.

She was a devout Catholic and a devoted parishioner of St. Cecilias Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. As a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Father Thomas Billimek Court 2425 she was always reminding family and friends to go to church.

Janie loved to read and could devour a good book in a day, tending to her roses in her garden, but what she loved most was being around family and getting everyone together for family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Guadalupe Flores and Maria Guadalupe Gonzales Flores.

Left behind to eternally treasure her memory is her husband of 25 years, Ernest T. Torres; her daughter, Cynthia Marie Torres; her brothers and sisters: Alfred G. Cristina Flores, Josephine F. Genaro Melchor, Joe D. Minerva Flores, Christine F. Adrian Ochoa, and Gloria F. Eliseo Villarreal; her mother and father-in-law, Jose Guadalupe and Maria Torres; numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. in the evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at St. Cecilias Catholic Church, 600 West Ocean Blvd., in Los Fresnos. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Janies nephews: Eduardo Tejada Jr., Michael Edward Tejada, Jesse Joe Tejada, Joe Daniel Flores Jr., Adrian Ochoa III, Adam Flores, Stephen Ray Flores, and Matthew Ahumada are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved aunt.
