Juanita Y. Ybarra

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Juanita Yanez Ybarra, born on May 16, 1917 in Poteet, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 19th of September 2023 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. She was one hundred and six years of age.

Preceding Juanita in death was her husband, Ignacio Ybarra; her parents, Cruz and Lazara Yanez; and her siblings, Margarita Duque Yanez, Adolfo Yanez, Leonardo Yanez, Santiago Yanez, Matilde Gonzalez Yanez, Vidala Yanez, Francisca Rodriguez Yanes, Urbano Yanez, Trinidad Yanez, Isidro Yanez, and Jose Yanez.

Survivors include her two sons, Elias Ybarra (Margaret) from Michigan and Eliseo Ybarra (Paula) from Texas; her grandchildren Darci Ybarra, Reno (Kellie) Ybarra, Mandy Ybarra, Rocky Ybarra and Robert Ybarra from Michigan, Ignacio (Belia) Ybarra, Liliana Ybarra and Eliseo Ybarra from Texas; her great-grandchildren Brooklyn Hornbacher, Tyler Ybarra, Mallorie Ybarra, Madyson Ybarra, Tim Ybarra, Dallas Dunning and Cheyenne Dunning from Michigan, Hailey Ybarra, Leilani Garcia, Leia Garcia, and Arwen Ybarra from Texas; and her great-great-grandchildren Aylah Rush, Aliyah Hornbacher, Amiyah Hornbacher, Aiydn Hornbacher, and Oliver Ybarra from Michigan.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 25th of September 2023 between the hours of three o'clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night, with a service to begin at six o’clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 26th of September 2023 at Iglesia Principe De Paz, 109 Military Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.

In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to Elias Ybarra, care of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, in memory of Juanita Yanez Ybarra.
