Julia A. Cass, 69, greatly cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was embraced by her Loving Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Greenville, Mississippi.

She was born in Greenville, Mississippi, on September 24, 1940 to John F. Rose and Margaret E. Rose. She was a graduate of the Greenwood School of Nursing in Greenwood, Mississippi. She completed her clinical nursing at Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her clinical specialty was surgery. Her administrative specialty was Infection Control and Risk Management. She worked as a registered nurse for 46 years, retiring from Valley Baptist Medical Center, Brownsville.

She actively served as a member of First Baptist Church, joyfully singing in the choir, and faithfully assisting her husband, Rick Cass, with his Sunday School Ministry. She also served as a dedicated member of the First Baptist School Committee.

Julie always demonstrated the love of Jesus with her words and her actions. Her precious smile, laughter, and hugs will be deeply missed. She enjoyed a very special relationship with her Lhasa apso, Sasha.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, John F. Rose and Margaret E. Rose.

Left to carry on her cherished memory are her husband, the love of her earthly life of 49 years, Rick Cass, her son, Jack R. Cynthia Cass of Corpus Christi, her daughter, Kimberly Michael Fulton of San Antonio, her grandson, Matthew Cass of Brownsville, her granddaughters, Sarah Cass of Brownsville, and Arianna Cass of Corpus Christi, sisters, Alice James Sanders of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Susan Mike Guercio of Greenville, Mississippi, Linda Sunny Bradshaw of Booneville, Arkansas, one niece, three nephews, and countless friends

Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 1p.m., and the Celebration of Life Service will be at 2p.m., at First Baptist Church, 1600 Boca Chica Blvd., with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
