Julia Martinez Lopez, 87, went home to the Lord on January 18, 2011, in Bastrop, Texas.
She was born in Edna, Texas on August 27, 1923, and was a member of El Calvario Lutheran Church in Brownsville, Texas. After raising her family, she began her working career, and was at various times employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant by Mercy Hospital, Valley Community Hospital, Valley Grande Manor and other skilled nursing facilities in Brownsville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pablo Martinez mother, Paula Medina Martinez, and husband, Jose G. Lopez her sisters, Domitila Lopez, Eloisa Mata, Estefana Martinez her brothers, Antonio Martinez, Amancio Martinez, Gilberto Martinez, and Valentin Martinez. She is survived by daughters, Paula David Greene, Maria de Los Angeles Donald Hoehne, Maria Elena Thomas Pallotta sons, Joel Jovita Lopez, Arturo Juanita Lopez, Gilberto Karen Lopez, and David Lee Lopez 14 grandchildren, and 7 greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Beatrice Eduardo Lopez, and Ofilia Joe Molina and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin today, Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser. A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 21, at DarlingMouser with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers will be Gilberto Lopez, Arturo Lopez, Tony Lopez, Mitch Greene, Matt Greene, Kevin Hoehne and Noe Lopez. Honorary Pall Bearers will be David Greene, Terry Hoehne, Ramon Rodriguez, Rene Lopez, Leo Molina, Hector Molina, Gilberto Martinez, Joel Lopez, Joel Lopez Jr., and Jose Lopez.
