June Reid Davis

June Reid Davis passed away at her home on Sunday, April 29, 2012. She was born June Mcintosh Reid, the daughter of Henry Birkby Reid and Martha Mcintosh Reid in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, in June of 1928.

June met her husband, Robert during WWII when he was stationed in England with the 101st Airborne. They married in London, England on Valentines Day 1946 and immigrated to America after the war.

June and Robert settled in Waukegan, Illinois where all four of their children were born. In 1954, the family moved to Brownsville, TX, where they owned and operated the Glenora Courts Motel until 1959.

June was known for her striking redheaded beauty and wonderful Irish wit, breaking into her Irish brogue at the slightest encouragement. Saint Patricks Day was her favorite day of the year. She had a soft spot for abandoned animals. June will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charboutet Davis in 1958 her son, James Reid Davis in 1969 her parents, Henry and Martha Reid, and three brothers, Harry, Ernest, and Victor Reid.

June is survived by her children: Robert J. Lin Davis, Colleen J. David Ferguson, and Kathleen B. Henry Solana. Six grandchildren: William J. Nancy Gulley, Donald D. Erika Ferguson III, Tabatha J. Ferguson, Enrique J. Mayela Solana, Samuel J. Solana, and Kelly M. Solana fiance Jorge de la Colina. Four greatgrandchildren: Roger Joseph Gulley, Matthew David Ferguson, Taylor Reid Ferguson, and Madison Camille Solana as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon with a Liturgical Service starting at 12 Noon on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Private committal services will take place at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Junes name may be made to Angels Pet Rescue, 1225 N. Expressway 7783, Ste. C172, Brownsville, TX 78520
