Justo Chavarria Jr., 71, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at his residence in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.

Justo, a native of Laredo, had been a resident of Brownsville for a number of years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. Justo was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Commander Club. Justo was a faithful parishioner of St. Josephs Catholic Church.

Justo was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Justo was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Justo is preceded in death by his parents, Micaela and Justo Chavarria and a sister, Catherine Chavarria.

Justo is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Lydia Chavarria two daughters, Elizabeth Marco Salazar and Norma Jose Larrazolo seven grandchildren: Jose Eduardo, Marco Jr., Astrid, Rodolfo, Elizabeth, Paulina, and Aaron one brother, Raymond Chavarria, five sisters: Dolores C. Van Nostrand, Therese Vander Vries, Julie Scott, Margie Chavarria, and Constance Seany, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, and continue through 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Jos Elio Larrazolo, Marco Antonio Salazar, Jos Eduardo Larrazolo, Marco Antonio Salazar Jr., Rodolfo Larrazolo, and Luis Arturo Saldaa are honored to be serving as Justos pallbearers.

Raymond Chavarra, Aarn Salazar, Jos Guadalupe Saldaa, Armando Cabrera, Doroteo Cabrera, and John Van Nostrand will serve as honorary pallbearer.
