BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Kenneth Attaway, age 91, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Kenneth was born in Marietta, Oklahoma to Edgar Doyle Attaway and Lola Bertha Casey in 1927. He served our country for 6 years in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Ken joined the Border Patrol in 1954 and continued in Immigration and Customs for over 27 years. He made his home in Brownsville where he met the love of his life, Margarita Perez. Ken and his wife, Maggie, of over 53 years, enjoyed their RV and motorcycle journeys, traveling to all four corners of the United States and Canada. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and stayed active by participating in the Silver Badges, Elks Lodge, and over 50 years as a Master Mason.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kenneth Wayne Attaway (Jan) and Jeannie Lorraine Vinson; stepsons, Eldemiro Guzman, Jr. (Anna) and Gustavo "Fred" Guzman (Sharron); sister, Glenda Rose Hill; ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Ken was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Visiting hours are on Sunday, September 30, 2018, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and concluding at 7:00 p.m within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
A chapel service will commence on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park with full military honors under the auspices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2035.
