Mrs. Lamar G. Flores, 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Lamar was a member of a pioneer family from Alice, Texas where she was born and raised. While attending Texas A I University in Kingsville, she met and fell in love with a young man from Brownsville. After marrying Ralph Flores Jr. they moved to Brownsville.

Lamar was a devoted and dedicated teacher for close to 40 years with the BISD most of them spent teaching the children at Cromack Elementary. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member and parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Lamar was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Bishop Adolph Marx 1988. Lamar loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling. Lamar was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known her.

Lamar was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Flores Jr. her parents: Arturo and Elvira Gomez a sister, Viola Gomez Dolan and three brothers: Hector, Arturo Jr., and Ruy P. Gomez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Imelda L. Bill Beauchamp Ralph Flores III, and Hector Flores seven grandchildren two greatgrandchildren two sisters, Sylvia E. Gomez and Judith G. Aaron Saenz and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26th with the family receiving family and friends beginning at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The recitation of the holy rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the East Chapel. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln Street. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
