She was born in La Sal Colorada, Texas but was a long time resident of Brownsville. She received certification as an instructor from Scarrett College in Nashville, TN and taught kindergarten for many years at El Buen Pastor Methodist School. She was devoted to her students and was overjoyed to see them and learn of their families and accomplishments. She was a third generation Methodist, a faithful and life long member of the United Methodist Women, and participated in leadership roles for her church and committees. She was a generous soul and dedicated her life to helping others through the Rio Grande Conference of the United Methodist Church and its missions. Her kind heart made her a favorite to both family and friends.
Laurencia was also a pioneer by being a woman in business. She was a Co-Owner, along with her brother Albino and sister Leonor, of Carrascos Auto Accessory Supply, a successful business in downtown Brownsville for many years. Her days were spent helping to run the family business, enjoying the company of her Mother and Sister, and volunteering at El Buen Pastor Iglesia Metodista.
Tia will be missed by all who knew her but we will carry her in our hearts until we see our loved ones in the home of our heavenly Father.
The family extends their appreciation to Laurencias doctors and staff for the care and kindness shown to her throughout her illness. We are also grateful to friends who in their compassion shared their time and prayers with her.
