Lewis Jollett served as an officer in the Army Air Force of two wars (WWII and Korean). After WWII he attended UVA before taking on the full-time responsibility of his growing family. He was born on a farm and always had a love of the land even though his professional career took him to Atlanta, GA where he worked for Beckman Scientific Instruments. After retirement, he and his wife continued to live on Lake Lanier in Georgia where many fun-filled family gatherings took place. After more than 30 years of living on the lake, they decided to move to TX where his wife was from and they moved to South Padre Island, TX where they have lived for 25 years. The beach life provided them with many friends, family gatherings, and activities.
Mr. Jollett was an avid reader of a great variety of topics, and he always loved a good conversation or debate around the dinner table. Another favorite pastime was playing Bridge. He and his wife enjoyed hosting and attending parties where music and dancing were frequently involved.
