Lorenza R. Lopez, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister entered into the glory of her eternal life on Friday, July 1, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Lorenza had been a resident of Brownsville for a number of years. She was a woman of deep faith and was a founding member for both the Assembly of God and Principe de Paz churches. She went to church services every Sunday up until two weeks ago when her health deteriorated. She loved gardening and especially loved growing roses. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing for family and friends. Doa Lorenza will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those fortunate to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Florencia and by her brother Francisco Rivera.
Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her children: David R. Elba Elizondo, Cayetano Ofelia Lopez, Jr., Tomas Amparo Lopez, Matias Hilda Lopez, and Florencia Vasquez; her 7 grandchildren: Belinda, Brenda, Belia, Cassandra, Steven, Reyna, and Samantha; her 5 great-grandchildren: Carissa, Dallas, J.D., D. J., and Rebekah. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters: Manuel, Marcelina, Valeriano, and Daniel Rivera, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 2, 2008, and continue through 9 p.m. this evening with a prayer service scheduled for 7 p.m. in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Principe de Paz Church, 109 Old Military Highway. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Doa Lornezas grandsons are honored to be serving as her pallbearers.
