Lucia M. Espinosa, 75, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville with her loving family at her side.
A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Lucia was a devoted wife and mother. A devout Catholic, Lucia had been a parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Mission for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those fortunate to have known her.
She was preceded in death and has now joined her beloved husband of 60 years, Jose Guadalupe Espinosa; her son, Jose Guadalupe Espinosa, Jr., and her mother, Benita Martinez.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her 8 children: Josefina E. Jose M. Huerta, Alfredo Frances Espinosa, Rolando Sylvia Espinosa, Juanita Sylvia Rolando Zamora, Margarita Joe Hernndez, Ernesto Mary Ann Espinosa, Efran Janie Espinosa, and Alejando Ramona Espinosa; her 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Francisca Frances Gutirrez; her 4 brothers: Simn flores, Lorenzo Flores, Manuel Lydia Martnez, and Guadalupe Idolina Martnez, and by her numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, November, 7, 2008 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Mission, 155 E. Jefferson St. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Her grandsons, Alfredo Espinosa, Jr., Michael Roland Espinosa, Florentino Huerta, Jose Hernandez III, Joseluis Hernandez, Porfirio Hernandez, Ismael Zamora, and Rolando Zamora, Jr. are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother.
