Lucinda Lucy V. Salinas, 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility surrounded by her loving family.
Lucy was born in Brownsville but raised in San Benito. She returned to her hometown, after her marriage to Eduardo Salinas Sr. Lucy was a hardworking active woman, who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She taught them by her example, how to be strong and independent. Lucy loved gardening, traveling, and listening to all kinds of music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Carmen Villarreal her husband, Eduardo Salinas Sr. her daughter and soninlaw, Minerva and Esteban Garcia.
Left behind to eternally treasure the memories they have of her are her children: Cira Alicia Ruben Trevio, Oralia Alex Anzaldua, Eduardo Irene Salinas Jr., Lupita Robert Lopez, Rachel David McKenzie, and Sandy Mike Salinas Alvarado 22 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. She will also be missed by her brothers: Adan, Dionicio Nicho, Jose Pepe, Julio, and Roberto Villarreal and her sister, Katarina.
In accordance with her wishes Lucy was cremated. A Memorial Service Celebrating Lucys Life will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The family will begin to greet family and friends at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, Lucys family is requesting that memorial gifts in Lucys name may be made to Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility, P.O. Box 4478, Brownsville, Texas 785234478.
