Lucy L. Cortez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Lucy L. Cortez, 87, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy was the daughter of the late Lucindo Leos, Sr. and Aurelia Tapia Leos.

She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters:  Raul, Jose, Guadalupe Leos, Josefina L. Davila, Concepcion L. Munguia, Jose Leos, Lucindo Leos, Jr., Maria Gloria Bustinza, Lydia Leos Aguirre, and Manuel Leos; and by her granddaughter, Eve Vianey Cortez.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Andy Cortez; her sons James A. (Violeta) Cortez and Joseph A. (Ana) Cortez; four grandchildren Ivan J. Cortez, Alejandro Cortez, Tristen Cortez, and Aron Cortez; and one great-grandchild, Ethan Luke Cortez.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, between the hours of  3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with the prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. within the East Chapel of  Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

Visitation will resume at 11:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Interment will follow, via an escorted procession, to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
