Mr. Luis Lucio, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Lucio was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a veteran of WW II having served proudly with the United States Marine Corps. Luis, together with his wife Consuelo, was an active member of our community serving in many of our communitys activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Teodoro Lucio, Sr. and Maria Antonia Lopez Lucio; his brothers: Santana, Daniel, Teodoro Jr., Samuel, Jesus, and Eduardo Lucio; and his sisters: Eva Paredes, Aurora and Beatrice Lucio.

His memory will be eternally cherished by those he has left behind: his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Consuelo Leal Lucio; his eleven children: Jose Luis Mayda Lucio, Maria H. Tencha Manuel Mancha, Martha Estella Saavedra, Perla Irma Juan Garza, Emma Enedina Victor Rodriguez, George Adalberto Thelma Lucio, Manuel Enrique Yolanda Lucio, Norma Sylvia Daniel Jasso, Samuel Esteban Norma Lucio, Patricia Anna Joel Zamora, and Luis Juanita Lucio, Jr. In addition, he is survived by thirty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and one brother, Conrado Emma Lucio from Riverside, CA.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:30 p.m. this evening. The Mass of Resurrection will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the VFW Post 2035 under the direction of Sr. Vice-Commander Luis Lucio VFW District 18. The 21 gun salute will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans Chapter One firing squad.

George Adalberto Lucio, Sr., Manuel Enrique Lucio, Sr., Samuel Esteban Lucio, Joel Zamora, Sr., Antonio Saavedra III, and Manuel M. Mancha, Jr. are honored to be serving as Mr. Lucios pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Vctor Rodrguez, Jr., Juan Antonio Garza, Jr., Samuel A. Lucio, George Adalberto Lucio, Jr., Manuel E. Lucio, Jr., Jos Lus Lucio, Daniel Jasso, Jr., Joel Zamora, Jr., and David Conrado Lucio.
