Mr. Luis H. Ortega, 86, of Brownsville, our beloved father, brother, grandfather, greatgrandfather, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Brooke Army Medical Center Burn Unit in San Antonio, Texas as a result of the injuries he sustained in a fire accident on February 21, 2012.
A native of San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico, Mr. Ortega came to Matamoros, Ejido San Luisito, as a young boy and moved to Brownsville sometime in the 80s. He worked for many years as a farmer. In his younger days, Mr. Ortega was a musician and played the accordion. Mr. Ortega was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
Mr. Ortega was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Velia Ortega a son, Guadalupe Lupe Ortega and four brothers, Felipe, Reymundo, Juan, and Sebastian Ortega.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his daughter, Ana Luisa Leal and her husband Juan his son, Juan Ortega seven grandchildren:Marisela, Elisa, Raul, Amelia, Sandra, and Lupita Ortega, and Ivana Leal 21 greatgrandchildren 2 greatgreatgrandchildren one brother, Nicolas Tomasita Ortega two sisters, Brijida Beto Alarcon and Lola Abel Villegas numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. today, Sunday, May 13, 2012 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser. A Funeral Liturgical Service will be held 0:00 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln St., followed by committal services at Buena Vista Burial Park.
