Magdalena B. Buitron, 73, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Maggie, as she was affectionately known to all, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was a proud member of the BHS Class of 1961 and enjoyed getting together with her classmates on a regular basis. Maggie worked for various Brownsville doctors for over 30 years as a Medical Biller.
Maggie was a devoted wife and mother. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Luke Catholic Church since its inception. In her spare time, Maggie loved to dance with her lifelong partner, as well as her trips to Mexico.
Maggie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Eulogio and Aurora Bazan and a sister, Evangelina Lozano.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Maggie is her husband of 51 years, Gilberto A. Buitron; her three children: Gilbert (Francine) Buitron, Patty (Juan Miguel) Gonzalez, and Laura (Patrick) Dekker; four grandchildren: A. J. and Emma Gonzalez and Olivia and Sophia Dekker; a brother, Lorenzo (Rosemary) Bazan; a sister, Cecilia (Kenny Vargas) Barron and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Friday evening in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive, in Brownsville, TX. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
