BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Manfred Arthur Hofstaedter, age 94, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Thursday, the 13th of February 2025. Manfred was born November 13, 1930, son of the late Emilie Hanke and Walter Hofstaedter in Breslau, Germany.
Manfred volunteered at Valley Baptist Hospital and Brownsville Medical Center as well as leading the senior wellness group there. He was the yard superintendent at Marathon LeTourneau as well as a welding instructor with the Brownsville Independent School District before retiring in 1992.
Manfred is survived by his son, Charles Hofstaedter, and Charles' wife, Ilona Ahlers, as well as his sisters, Anneliese Hagen and Karin Pasternack.
Manfred was preceded in death by his wife, Lore Klar Hofstaedter; his daughter, Angela Hofstaedter, and his son, Walter Hofstaedter; his mother, Emilie Hanke, and his father, Walter Hofstaedter; his sister, Rene Christman, and by his brother, Conrad Hofstaedter.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 17th of February 2025 between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and three o'clock in the afternoon, with a blessing to be officiated by Msgr. Bert Diaz at two o’clock in the afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services conclude Monday afternoon.
The Hofstaedter family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Superior Hospice and Valley View Senior Living for the many years of heartfelt service in the care of Manfred throughout his declining health.
