Manuel "Manolo" Mauriz, Jr.

Manuel Manolo Mauriz, Jr., 72, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Manolo was born in La Habana, Cuba on February 18, 1938 to Manuel Mauriz Yanez and Josefa San Miquel de Mauriz. He was a 1960 graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his only son, Manolo Mauriz, and daughterinlaw, Patricia Mauriz, two grandchildren, Daniela Patricia Mauriz and Manolo Mauriz II, a sister, Josefina Fafi Melguizo and his former wife, Elsa Cuata Margain all of Brownsville, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 3 p.m., and continue until 9p.m., with a service to begin at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude on Thursday evening.
