Manuel Moran, 77, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, June 28, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Brownsville after a valiant battle against cancer.

Manuel H. Moran Sr. was born in October of 1935 to Margarita Hernandez and Mauricio Moran, but was raised by his eldest brother, Mauricio and his wife Guadalupe M. Moran. During his lifetime, Manuel worked at Union Carbide, the City of Brownsville, and the Cameron County Bridge System.

Manuel was an excellent husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Manuel passion in life was fishing. He also loved cooking out, classic cars, and music from the 40s and 50s. Manuel, a devout Catholic, was a faithful and longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Manuel was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends and all those fortunate to have known him. Manuels memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents two sisters, Maria Moran Sierra and her husband Ramiro and Mela Moran Villarreal and her husband Raymond and two brothers, Alonso H. and Rafael H. Moran.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Angelita Solis Moran a son, Manuel Moran Jr., and a daughter, Belinda M. Moa and her husband Gilberto the two granddaughters that were his pride and joy, Rebeca Elise Castillo Moran and Regina Odette Castillo Moran two brothers, Lorenzo and Arnoldo Moran a daughterinlaw, Maria C. Moran and numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30th with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. A Liturgical Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln St. All services will conclude at the church and in accordance with Mr. Morans wishes cremation will follow.

Fernando Colunga, Geno Colunga, David Sierra, Ramiro M. Sierra, Robert Sierra, and Adolfo Toriz are honored to be serving as Manuels pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mr. Morans name may be made to Hooked for Life, co David Mendez, 1150 Paredes Line Road, Brownsville, TX 78521.

The Moran Family would like to thank all of their family for the love, prayers, and visits during Manuels illness. They would also like to thank Manuels medical team: Drs. Miguel Molinas, Juan Rodriguez, Balesh Sharma, Dr. Gonzalez, Leonel Puga RN and Gabriel Yado RN and his caregiver, Elida Gonzalez for their tremendous efforts. All of them provided excellent loving care to their loved one, and words cannot express our gratefulness. They would also like to thank Caring For You and Home Health Care who were there for Manuel since the onset of his illness. We would like to give great thanks to Safe Haven Hospice, who became dear friends to us, and who lent their shoulders for us to cry on. Thank you so much for providing unwavering comfort. We love you all and can never thank you enough.

Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for thou art with me. May Manuel Rest in Peace. You will be missed.
