Marcia M. Aguilar, 80, of Brownsville, Texas passed away at her residence on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 with her son at her side, after a brief but valiant battle against lung cancer.
Marcia, touched the lives of countless of our community's youth as a teacher with BISD for 31 years and as an adjunct professor at TSC, later UTB-TSC. Marcia was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she served her Lord faithfully in various capacities. Marcia was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Marcia is preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Genis Aguilar and her parents.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved son, Steven S. Aguilar; a sister, Gail (Larry) Langley; a sister-in-law, Josefina (Juan) Galeazi; one nephew, two nieces, numerous friends and extended family members.
In accordance with Marcia's wishes, she will be cremated. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 20th, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 1225 Boca Chica Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Marcia's name may be made to the Good Neighbor Settlement House, 1254 E. Tyler St., Brownsville, TX 78520 and/or the Hospital Transportation Fund @ Al Amin Temple, 2001 Suntide, Corpus Christi, TX 78409.
