The final sunset came for Margie Scott Overholser on Friday, July 20, 2012 at her residence. Margies sunrise was on February 15, 1920 in San Angelo, TX. She was the fourth daughter born to Samuel Tilden Willie Alice Nabors Scott. Margie was married to her childhood sweetheart, Eugene Overholser for 58 years.
In her earlier years, Margie was very active in PTA, the Garden Club, and Girl Scouting. She was a great seamstress and a gardener. Margie worked for the BISD at Russell Elementary for many years. She loved dogs and raised wirehaired terrier puppies. Margie will be greatly missed by her dog, Rowdy Yates. Margie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and four sisters: Mary, Eunice, Leone, and Sammi and two brothers, Zane and Bruce.
Survivors include her only daughter, Margene O. Frazier two grandsons: Jeffrey and Tony Frazier five greatgrandchildren: Lance, Hannah, Miranda, Lyli, and Charlie Eugene a greatgreatgrandson, Joshua Wayne Frazier and her brother, Gary Scott.
A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Library of the First Presbyterian Church, 435 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78520.
